After graduation, she was accepted into a one year Large Animal Internship at Texas A & M University . She also completed her Large Animal Internal Medicine Residency at Texas A & M University and successfully passed her medicine board examination in 2000. She is a diplomate of the American College of Internal Medicine in Large Animal and has been practicing in Ventura County since 1999.

He went to veterinary school and completed a Large Animal Internship at University of Pennsylvania. He was then accepted into a 3 year residency program in Equine Surgery at University of CA, Davis. He became board certified in Large Animal Surgery in 1994 and has been performing surgery, consultations, and working in a performance horse practice since moving to Ventura County in 1993.
She is from Medellin, Colombia, and graduated from Universidad CES a year ago! Veterinary medicine has allowed her to combine both of her passions, medicine and animals! She has always had a love for animals, especially horses, and as she began her studies she realized that she wanted to become an equine vet! During this internship, she hopes to increase her knowledge and experience, and lead her to provide the best care possible to her patients!
She is Ecuadorian and obtained a degree in Veterinary Medicine at Universidad de las Americas in Quito - Ecuador. Since the beginning of her career, her passion has always been to work in equine medicine.
She grew up in Norway with a passion for film, television, and, of course, horses! She is a true multi-linguist and speaks English, Norwegian, Swedish, and some German! Her passion for film and television brought her to the United States where she worked as a reporter, journalist, and financial planner before joining our wonderful team here at West Coast!
When Katya volunteered at WCE she always wanted to come back and is now happy to be a part of the WCE team. She has a passion for horses and enjoys seeing them make healthy recoveries.
